about

"Slick Enhancer" is an ointment that lets you see the past in vivid, glorious 4K -- but only the parts you've worked hardest to forget. Banned by the FDA, the product served as inspiration for the first single off the album "The Unstruck Bell," by Providence, RI's The Pines of Rome (out 5/26). The song deals with the futility of hindsight, and sounds as if Big|Brave recorded "Didn't It Rain" in an abandoned department store.

lyrics

You said,
“everyone’s accountable”
when I said,
“everyone’s alone.”

And I know
you never meant to implicate me
but there’s one
belief you’ll never own

And it’s a terrible salvation to see ahead by looking back

Can I just say, you look incredible
when you decide you’ve had enough?
We die when nothing brings us happiness,
so let’s die before this gets too rough

And it’s a terrible salvation to see ahead by looking back
